COURSES WITH RUTH AT TREALY FARM

Throughout 2025 and 2026

NEW ONGOING GROUP: Exploring Presence and Belonging

A new initiative facilitated by Ruth – to explore and co create our presence and belonging in a lively world. An emergent experience dependent on who is involved and what arises but sure to include live music, dance, walking, breath work, horses, sitting by the fire, great food, pool and saunas.

13th to 16th February 2025

EXPLORING PRESENCE, CONNECTION and DISCONNECTION: three day residential

An embodied exploration of how we are in presence and connection – both in our own body, in space and in relationship with others.
Presence, Connection and Disconnection are words we use a lot but what does it actually mean to be in connection? And when we disconnect what are we doing and why?

27th to 30th March 2025

EXPLORING POWER & VULNERABILITY: three day residential

An Equine Facilitated Workshop at Trealy Farm on the themes of vulnerability and power. To be vulnerable can be frightening and uncomfortable yet without it we cannot change or be truly powerful. How does it feel to be truly powerful in an open hearted, embodied and relational way? Humans are often coy, shamed, cunning or not clean in their experience of power. How can we shift these patterns and dynamics?

29th May to 1st June 2025

EXPLORING SENSUALITY and ALIVENESS: three day residential

An embodied exploration of how we are in our sensual self and in our aliveness. What enlivens us? When do we deaden and why? How can we make these patterns more conscious and shift them? What is the role of past experiences, of stories we have told ourselves, and of shame, in controlling us and inhibiting our spontaneity?

Description
An embodied exploration of how we are in presence and connection – both in our own body, in space and in relationship with others.
Presence, Connection and Disconnection are words we use a lot but what does it actually mean to be in connection? And when we disconnect what are we doing and why?

Horses are generous and relationship orientated beings in whose presence humans can better experience an embodied, visceral and sensual sense of self. When we are in the presence of horses we are receiving and giving information about who we are in relationship and about how we connect and disconnect both consciously and unconsciously.

We’ll be in a large covered space and the horses will always be free to move towards or away. Horse contact is safe and need not be physically close up to be powerful. No horse experience whatsoever required.

As well as the arena, the course will be taught in the dedicated group meeting space of the Pavilion.  Be inspired by stunning views of the Black Mountains. Wake up with a morning meditation with horses, swim in the natural swimming pool, walk through the woods, and unwind in the saunas.

The course is a three day residential. There is space for 8 participants. It is fully catered with delicious, nourishing and sustainable ingredients: 3 meals per day, 2 course lunches & dinners.

Description

An Equine Facilitated Workshop at Trealy Farm on the themes of vulnerability and power. To be vulnerable can be frightening and uncomfortable yet without it we cannot change or be truly powerful. How does it feel to be powerful in an embodied relational way? Humans are often coy, shamed, cunning or not clean in their experience of power. How can we shift these patterns and dynamics?

Humans often have an ambivalent and uneasy relationship to power. Why does this occur and what are the costs? How can we enhance our relationship to power to better serve ourselves and others? What are our personal stories around power and how do these impact us in the here and now? How can we become more aware of how it feels in our body-mind to feel powerful?

Horses can help because they use power cleanly and for the benefit of the herd. For example, they take turns in stepping forward as leader when their particular skills and qualities are needed. Moreover their use of power is always relational and embodied. They can help surface our own human patterns around power, both conscious and unconscious.

We’ll use a playful as well as an intimate and embodied approach to exploring the themes.

Thursday March 27th at 5 pm to Sunday March 30th at 4 pm 2025
